Last Thursday, June 19th, there was a triple shooting at Red Rocks Amphitheater after the Nas concert, but what was most tragic was the blatant and systematic violation of the concert-goers' rights as everyone was forced to show ID and have their cars searched for the shooting suspect as they left.  Well, almost everyone.  As it turns out, our own We Are Change Colorado journalist Bruce Baumann was allowed to leave without showing ID, because he invoked his inalienable rights with The Liberty Card.  Is this a case of selective enforcement?

The story goes that right after the Nas concert ended, a black male approximately 6' tall opened fire on rapper Schoolboy Q's white SUV with a rifle and then fled onto one of the trails.  But does this story pass the smell test?  Is it possible that it is just another false flag attack designed to shift public opinion, to be followed with more illegal and intrusive gun laws to disarm the American populace?  Whatever happened, soon thereafter, somewhere between 100-200 law enforcement officers arrived and set up mandatory checkpoints.

Even if this is not the case, could it be that Denver, Lakewood, and Morrison law enforcement officers, and Colorado State Troopers used this opportunity as a beta test to gauge the public's reaction to being forced to wait, some more than three hours, to leave the park?  Are they testing their capabilities to enact a martial law style lockdown, and to further indoctrinate the people that they have no rights and to give up their power to the "authorities" whenever they are asked to do so?

Expect oppressive gun legislation to be swiftly drawn up within days by Colorado senators and representatives using this incident as the basis.  When it comes, mark those people as enemies of the Republic, for daring to further infringe on our already dwindling right to keep and bear arms, which "shall not be infringed".

Forcing people to show ID when they are suspected of no crime in a giant sweep, and restricting their travel and searching vehicles without probable cause is a violation of their Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights as enumerated and clarified in the U.S. Constitution.  These are rights that every single one of these law enforcement officers swore a solemn oath to "preserve, protect, and defend". How shameful it is for them that they were doing exactly the opposite.  These rights ARE NOT granted by government, but by your very existence, because you were born, or if you prefer, by your Creator.  That's what our founding documents say.  What would Thomas Jefferson say about such an obvious violation of our rights earned with American blood, and those who enacted these violations?

So, what to do about this disturbing trend? Here's how our journalist Bruce Baumann managed to leave without showing ID: he showed his Liberty Card.  What's a Liberty Card?  Check them out! /

Here you can buy an "indestructable' card that can't be ripped or torn for $6, but any or all are encouraged to copy and paste the text and create your own cards for free.  This is about learning and defending our rights, not making money.  Any money raised from sales on this site is intended to help file civil suits against those who violate our rights, so I feel good about supporting them.  Making your own cards is highly encouraged.  I don't care one bit if you patronize this man's website or not, I just want everyone to learn how to live free and learn to stop consenting to these gross violations of our civil liberties.

Finally, a card is not required, it is only a reminder to you of exactly how to proceed in a manner which can easily be turned into a victorious Federal civil action under U.S. Code 42-1983 Civil Action For Violating Rights (quote the title of this code to law enforcement for best results).  This is a personal lawsuit, that cops cannot avoid, unlike a suit against their police department, who often just throw their officers to the wolves when pressure is put on them, by blaming the officer, instead of the department policy.  Know that law enforcement will be held responsible, even when they were "just following orders".  It didn't work as a defense at The Nuremburg trials, and it won't work for present violators either. They are responsible, and will be held accountable.

We Are Change Colorado members have successfully sued individual officers, The Denver Police Department, obtained apologies from the DPD, and even successfully sued the mighty Federal Reserve bank (which is neither Federal nor does it have any reserves), all for violating the rights of our members.  We can assure you that when our methods are followed, that this can and does work.

Let's take a moment to educate ourselves about when and where it is proper for a law enforcement officer to force you to show ID.  The simple answer is that you must show ID when arrested or suspected of a crime, as defined by "probable cause".  A person has been arrested or detained when they are not free to go when they ask to do so. Your movement has been "arrested”.  Whenever you are in doubt, just keep asking "Am I being detained?" If you are not free to leave, you are being detained, and if there is not a good reason, it could be considered "unlawful arrest".  The card has a flow chart on the back that details this sequence, though no card is necessary to invoke your rights, if you know what they are.  Cops will likely say that everyone who showed their IDs did so by consent.  Let me ask any who were there if they feel like they "consented" to wait 3 hours to leave when they had committed no crime?  Is that how it felt to you?  Failure to invoke your rights equals consent in the Law's eyes.  If we are to retain these rights we need to start to withdraw consent, especially when questioned or stopped by law enforcement.  We Are Change Colorado recommends ALWAYS filming encounters with LEO's, which is also your Lawful right under the First Amendment.  That way you have a record of the violations that cannot be refuted in court.

How about searches? To search your vehicle for anything, law enforcement need either your consent (do not consent!), or they require probable cause and a warrant from a judge with a detailed explanation of exactly WHAT they are searching for, as well as exactly what it is to be seized, as attested to by "oath or affirmation." "Fishing" expeditions are not covered in this, where they are just looking for something that is illegal so they can justify the illegal search. Read the Fourth Amendment for further clarification on this.

This matter of consent is very important.  Supreme Court Case law under the cases Berguis vs. Thompkins, as well as Davis vs. U.S. (1994), state that in order to have these rights, we must unambiguously declare them to law enforcement if we are to be sure of winning the civil suit.  So the lesson is always assert your rights to be silent, and to have an attorney present, and do not consent.  If everyone at Red Rocks had done this, the police checkpoint would have been swiftly dissolved to avoid the liability, but we need to be willing to tolerate a bit of inconvenience to show the police that we mean business.  For another important piece of case law, remember and utilize this one piece going back to a case concerning James Madison, Marbury vs. Madison, which states that any law which is passed which is contrary to the U.S. Constitution is null and void.

What about our rights to film police and other public servants to act as press?  These days many insist that the press must be a mainstream news organization, and that to be press you must be paid by one of these organizations.  This is a deception.  Officers will often say that we cannot film them because we are "eavesdropping" or some other such spurious thing, when they know and understand that filming in public (which affords no reasonable expectation of privacy), especially filming of a public servant, is not a crime.  This is another deception designed to steal your power.  Look at what the case law says: Lovell vs. City of Griffin, GA., 303 U.S. 444 “Press” as defined by Chief Justice Houghes: “The press in its connotation comprehends every sort of publication which affords a vehicle of information and opinion”

For those in Colorado who wish to defend America's heritage of Freedom as guaranteed us by the Bill of Rights, we recommend that everyone join us at our weekly free meetings every Monday evening from 7-9pm, at 8646 west Colfax avenue, above "The Grow Store".  At every meeting, we host a non-GMO potluck sharing of food and community, as well as plan actions and educate ourselves about Liberty.  We can help all to understand their rights, and how to go about defending them.  While we believe in the right of self-defense, we are non-violent in the tradition of Gandhi, and we feel that free speech is the best weapon with which to accomplish our goals.  We are not terrorists simply because we want what our founding fathers gave their lives, treasure, and sacred honor to secure for us.  It is our duty to stand up and speak out, even when we find it is uncomfortable. If you love Truth, Love, and Freedom, like we do, I'm asking you all to join us. Please.  We are not into left vs. right, but right vs. wrong, and liberty vs. tyranny.  We need your help to defend Liberty, especially when it hits close to home like this one has.  Together we are strong.   Learn how to enact and escape violations of your rights like Bruce did.  We can help.  We have the Liberty Cards available at our meetings, with a customized We Are Change logo, for a small donation.  Get empowered, and be prepared.  Here is America we the people are supposed to be the government, by holding these criminals accountable.  Let's take it back.
